Stories of Resilience – A Tribute to Black History Month

February 24, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Black History Month is a month set aside to honour the many individuals who have shown heroism in the area of social justice specifically as it relates to the anti-black racism.  While we may often think of heroes/heroines such as Harriet Tubman, an American abolitionist or perhaps of Kwame Nkrumah for his revolutionary efforts in decolonizing Ghana. But Black History is also about honouring our local Black Community members and their contributions in history.

In this session you will hear several speakers from An Clachan and the broader Queen’s Communities who will share a story of resilience either of their own or of their choosing. The session is open to all but may have mature themes that may not be appropriate for children.

This is a virtual session via Zoom. The link can be found on the An Clachan Facebook Group or upon request by email to amy.okesola@queensu.ca
