Kingston Community Resources Tour

New to Kingston? Want to get to know some of the nearby community resources?
Join us for a walking tour leaving from An Clachan at 8:45am. By the end of the tour, you will
- Learn how to access library services
- Learn about some opportunities for accessing fitness and recreational activities
- Learn how to access public transit and private taxi
- Learn about some options of where to buy essentials such as food, housewares, clothing etc.
- Learn about services available to newcomers to Canada including settlement and employment
- Learn about accessing healthcare at two nearby walk-in clinics
- Learn about services and opportunities available in the City of Kingston
- Have built relationships with several other newcomers to An Clachan
To register or for more information, please contact amy.okesola@queensu.ca. Note that this tour is not suitable for children and is only open to An Clachan residents. We will meet in the An Clachan Community Room for a brief introduction then will proceed on the tour. It is anticipated that we will walk approximately 1 hour with breaks in between to visit different organizations. There is no cost for participation. Bus and taxi transportation as part of the tour will be covered. Any outside purchases of food or other items will be at the individual’s expense. This is a great opportunity to get to know some important resources and how to access them. We will include the following stops:
Kingston Centre (listing of stores)
Immigrant Services of Kingston and Area
Mark Gerretsen, Member of Parliament Office
Urgent Care Centre @ Hotel Dieu Hospital
