Hi An Clachan people! My name is Salmin Andalib working as one of your Community Assistant. I am living in An Clachan since September 2013. I have done my bachelors in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I thoroughly enjoy my living in An Clachan because of its family friendly secured environment. The neighborhood is very impressive as only the Queens University students are permitted here. An Clachan also has free parking, on site laundry, schools and bus stops within 5mins walking distance. No other place can beat the location, wondering why! Because it is very close to Kingston Center the heart of Kingston. Kingston Center is a transfer point for all of the buses, you can find grocery stores like Loblaw’s, Rexall, Banks (CIBC, TD Canada), tons of good restaurants, hair and spa salons and so on. You can enjoy your quality time in Frontenac Public Library just by the Kingston Center, where one can get all free stuffs like membership, Wi-Fi, collection of good books and DVDs. You can keep your body in shape in YMCA gym near An Clachan. We also have a wide range of facilities for the An Clachan residents like International Center in Queens University where you can meet and greet people from all over the world, KEYS job center gives an opportunity for employment, ISKA provides free English classes. Greetings An Clachan residents! I am Sabah Haq, one of your community assistants. I have completedSabah 008 my bachelor of medicine and surgery from Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh. I am currently a 2nd year master’s student at Queen’s University in microbes, immunity and inflammation. This year is going to be my second year in An Clachan. I am looking forward to it because I have really enjoyed my stay here so far. An Clachan is a Queen’s Community housing for students which makes it a very safe, secure, learned and friendly community. The student community is very diverse, multicultural and multilingual that makes An Clachan living experience even more pleasurable. An Clachan with its comfortable, roomy apartments and large clean playgrounds is a great place for children. It is located in a picturesque and peaceful site in the centre of Kingston. One of the best privileges about living in An Clachan is its close proximity to Kingston Centre where all the facilities for grocery (Loblaws, Rexall, Shopper’s DrugMart and
Dollarama), banking (TD Canada Trust, BMO, CIBC), restaurants (Panda Garden Buffet, Coffeco, Popeyes), health (the Altima Dental Centre), gym (YMCA), internet (Bell, Wind) and bus services are available. There are many organizations to help new comers and immigrants familiarize with Kingston. KEYS job center on 920 Princess Street, Queen’s International center on Queen’s main campus, Immigrant Services Kingston and Area (ISKA) on 263 Weller Avenue are the various resources for employment and immigration that Kingston offers for new residents. There are many recreation sites like Lake Ontario Park, Boys and Girls Club on 559 Bagot Street near An Clachan. All these facilities makes An Clachan a wonderful place to stay.
